Modes of study

At the eMPIRICA College in Brčko, teaching is organized to meet the needs of different categories of students – those who live in Brčko, as well as those who work or come from other areas. For this reason, two study models are offered: full-time study, distance learning, part-time study, and blended learning.

Full-time study takes place using the classic face-to-face method on the premises of the eMPIRICA College in Brčko, and combines various educational approaches: lectures, practical and computer exercises, teamwork, case studies, and other interactive methods. As additional support, full-time students are provided with access to an online platform where they can use multimedia teaching materials, test their knowledge, work in groups, communicate with professors and students, and develop skills through an electronic environment.

Distance learning is primarily intended for employed students and those who live outside of Brčko but wish to attend classic classes occasionally. Most of the semester takes place via the platform, which contains recorded lectures, presentations, assignments, simulations, and tests. During the semester, two cycles of face-to-face classes and tests are organized, mostly in the afternoon and on weekends, during which students are required to attend laboratory exercises that cannot be conducted remotely. Distance learning students are also welcome to attend regular classes, and the flexible organization of course material and activity schedules allows them a more balanced workload and easier mastery of the material. This approach has proven to result in more efficient learning and better exam success.

Part-time study is intended for students who, due to business, family, or other obligations, are unable to attend classes regularly at standard times. Teaching is organized more flexibly, with a greater focus on independent student work and the use of digital educational resources. Through the platform, students have access to teaching materials, presentations, recorded lectures, assignments, tests, and other content that allows them to complete part of their educational activities at a time that suits them best. Classic classes, consultations, practical and laboratory exercises, and knowledge assessments are organized at adjusted times, mostly in the afternoon and on weekends. In this way, students are enabled to successfully balance study obligations with employment and other life commitments, while maintaining the quality and continuity of the teaching process.

Blended learning represents a modern model of education that combines the advantages of classic classroom teaching and online learning via a platform. Part of the educational activities is carried out face-to-face, through lectures, practical and computer exercises, laboratory work, team activities, and interaction with professors and students, while the other part takes place online, using multimedia materials, recorded lectures, assignments, simulations, and electronic tests. This model provides students with greater flexibility in organizing their time, with the possibility of mastering part of the material independently and at their own pace, while time spent in the classroom is used for practical work, discussions, problem-solving, and the application of acquired knowledge. Blended learning thus connects direct communication and practical experience with the advantages of digital education, creating a flexible and efficient learning environment.
